Do you want to
ask questions, send praise or
insult a fictional character? Sure, we all do,
and here's your chance! E-Mail
us and tell us
what you think. Even if it's not very intelligent.
Hell, ESPECIALLY if it's not very intelligent.
Stupid people are so easy to make fun of
and we're lazy.
Working
on a flash cartoon is fun.
It truly is.
It's a chance to see your characters animated by others (and I really
lucked out what with Bob Cesca, the greatest flash animator since Eisenhower),
and see your vision realized.
In the case of ANGRY NAKED PAT episodes III and IV, it was MY chance to
see my characters written by a talented buddy of mine, Dan McGee. I knew
Pat was in good hands (ew), I've read Dan's other work, frig, I co-wrote
a script (ROCKTOBER) with him.
And
he didn't disappoint, no sir. The two episodes he wrote, MR. MOJO RISEN
PART I and the creatively named MR. MOJO RISEN PART II, combined with
Bob's genius art and direction AND Tim Panella's music, made so friggin'
happy I was giddy.
I first saw the completed episodes on the day I took my car to be inspected
AND it failed after 1500 thousand dollars of repair work. I was pissed,
but one look at that wacky mad dude with the genitals and such and his
retarded bowl-cut sportin' sidekick and all my troubles went away.

For the record, the moment of The Geek and Nigel 7 dancing when they discover
that Barry Pepper's pubes are only five "earth dollars" just as the ghost
of the Lizard King appears is my favorite moving image in the history
OF moving images. Yep, it replaces Geri Halliwell's "It's Raining Men"
video.
So
yeah, I was VERY happy with the Pat cartoons. As were the majority of
the viewers. The response was overwhelmingly good.
But overwhelmingly good responses aren't that much fun to read, are they?
Nope, that's why I'm proud to present---
THE
NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FOR
ANGRY NAKED PAT EPISODES III AND IV

Yep yep yep, some people HATE Pat. Just don't find him funny, in comic
strip OR comic book OR (in this case) animated form. The mere sight of
him angers people. Most of them don't go to the Pat web board, of course.
The biggest group of Pat-haters RECENTLY came right from the Camp Chaos
board. And they were harsh.
And while harsh reviews aren't necessarily that much fun for me to read,
I can wager you guys won't feel lil' pangs of pain in YOUR stomach upon
seeing Pat trashed. So here you go, Pat slammin', courtesy of the Camp
Chaos discussion board (under the heading "GENERAL BANTER if you want
to check it out for yourself), again, there was a lot of great reviews
too, but the bad ones are more entertaining--
Sorry bob.. Ho-Hum.. Animation
was good.. Story line needed something else.
That's
not so bad, right? They appreciated Bob's art, but they wanted a better
story from their five minute cartoon short. Besides, people came to it's
defense, and said how much they liked it, provoking THIS more in-depth
review by the same guy.
I don't think it's a matter of "getting" it as much as finding it funny.
Which I didn't. As I stated, I enjoyed the graphics, and even like the
music.. Storyline.. Needs work. And if I get thrashed for my honest opinion..
So be it.

He
likes the "graphics" (but were they as good as the graphics for YARS REVENGE
on the Atari 2600? Now THAT was some good graphics), and Tim's music was
appreciated, so that's cool. But what this dude did with his not-altogether
scathing review of the cartoon is OPEN THE FLOODGATES for people who don't
like Pat. Seriously, it was like a cyber-whistle that only dogs who can
type and also hate Pat can hear.
The
next one---
I totally agree. The animation is always up to C Chaos standards, but
the whole ANP premise and story is just stupid. Could the jokes be MORE
obscure? Jim Morrisons' character was lame as was the so-called voice.
I just still cant believe you folks are wasting this much time and effort
on something that's just NOT funny to mostly everyone else but yourselves.
But, your website, do what you want.
Again,
mad props for C Chaos (remember C Chaos? toured with Biggie Smalls back
in the day, dropped out of the rap game and is now a minister in Detroit,
true story).
But
the premise, a pissed off nude guy is bothered by the ghost of a dead
rock and roller, so he uses a book of voodoo to send said rock and roller
to a Battlefield:Earth convention wherein the rock and roller does battle
with the ghost of John Travolta's integrity, is STUPID? Get OUTTA here.
Stupid indeed.
As for the in jokes, well, son, if making jokes about Battlefield:Earth
is too obscure then I don't want to be unobscure.
More
than anything else, this dude just wants Bob to drop us like a sack of
obscure potatoes and do other stuff. But, and I don't want to put words
in Bob's mouth, I think Bob ENJOYS doing Pat (again, EW). I could be wrong.
I just hope we're not dragging C Chaos down.

Animation as always was great. The story wasn't. The music soundtrack
was really cool. Since when did Jim Morrison sound like Bob Dylan stoned
out of his mind with a bad English accent? I still don't get why Pat is
naked. Get it or not, neither episode had me laughing nor intrigued.
Again,
Camp Chaos gets an "A". Music, art, gold star. But everything else, lordy
lordy lordy it's bad.
And this dude chooses to dwell on Pat being naked (he just IS, simple
as that, not played for laughs, ever, it's just who he is) AND question
the...British...Bob Dylan-esque voicework by Brian Quinn. I don't understand
this statement, but hey, I haven't been to Britland lately, maybe they
talk all drunk like. As for the "Bob Dylan" comment...
...I just don't get it. Moving on.
I have seen all of the ANP stuff that has been put out so far. The writing
just isn't striking me as funny. The animation and music are great though.
I'll continue to check the series out because who knows, my opinion may
change for the better.
Okay,
you know what? Let's move on. The Camp Chaos board is bringing me down,
let's go to---
http://www.rbec.net/~jferguson/
---a
fan site dedicated to Camp Chaos. They love the C Chaos, they MUST love
Pat, right? I mean, look, they started an ENTIRE THREAD entitled ANGRY
NAKED PAT EPISODES 3 AND 4, and one of the guys who runs the site, posted
that he was excited to see it, so we're in for some GOOD reactions, huh?
Let's read what an excited fan of ANGRY NAKED PAT has to say in anticipation
of the new cartoons...
Well... I wonder, will Pat be funny this time around?
Who
the? What the? Oh, he must mean PAT THE CHARACTER. Because he's so angry
and serious and all. Okay, moving onto the next one---

ANP isn't really all that funny is it? I haven't really had the urge
to watch a cartoon with guys showing themselves.
---oh
dear. Yeah. Instead of defending myself this time, I will simply state
that the guy who wrote this is named BOOGER BASTARD and move onto the
next review---
ANP isnt really about Pat's penis. The fact that he's nude is just a
weird twist.. Its the dialogue and story thats funny. The humor is different
from Bob or Marc's stuff, but its really cool..
---Wow.
A good one. Nice. He acknowledges that it's different from other C Chaos
stuff, but is still good. And he gets we're not trying to be funny about
Pat's nudity. Thank you, Phear, wherever you are. Okay, we're on a roll,
I'm sure the good reviews will just pour in---
The animation is good. I couldn't care less about the nakedness though
it currently makes no sense. Some of the humor isn't all that funny to
me. Calling women "bitches" does not win me over. Seems to be more about
'how offensive can a toon can get?' than about funny.

Um.
Fuck. We were on a roll. ONE good post, and this guy ruined our mojo.
The
"bitch" comment wasn't even from Episodes III and IV. It's from number
II, wherein Pat is trying to whisper subliminal messages into Sarah Michelle
Gellar's lil' head while she's sleeping. She doesn't believe what he's
telling her (and she shouldn't, that Pat character is LYING), and he gets
mad and shakes her and yells at her, thereby ruining the whole "sneaking
in and trying to plant subliminal messages" plan. THAT was the joke. Pat
lost his temper and almost blew his plan. Ah well. The next post is SURE
to make up for it---
Was it just me or did the impersonation of Jim Morrison not even remotely
sound like him, but sounded more like Bob Dylan? I watched both episodes
and didn't even chuckle. I'm giving up on this one. I stick to Nippleman
and then The Kellys on NASCAR's website.
Bob...Dylan?
What is WITH YOU PEOPLE???!!?!?! But, you know, some posts negate themselves,
and "I'll stick to NASCAR's website" makes me feel kinda good this dude
didn't "even chuckle". Go giggle about funnycars, Jethro.
Okay,
THAT was bitter.
I enjoyed the animation.. But the storyline was quite flat
and a little more humorous than watching a slug shrivel up when you pour
salt on it.
That
slug thing sounds like a kick, anyone know the URL of THAT short film?
This specific slug-loving post came courtesy of one of the people that
badmouthed Pat on the C Chaos board anyhoo. Next---
Didnt really like the story line... Although I was drunk
at the time.,,, I thought it could be funnier...Lacked a lot... Except
in the animation deparment... NOT NEARLY as funny as Prince Among Men!!!
He
was drunk, so I ain't listenin', and...OH WAIT, he liked the episodes
I wrote more. Huzzah to you, Andy Capp, you know quality when you see
it! NEVER EVER sleep it off!
The only thing I liked about the first two was the Quantum
Leap reference.. other than that, it lacked as much as the newer ones.
This
is the slug person again. I believe four of the negative reviews in this
Male Sac are from this person. He or she has it out for Pat. But they
DID like the Quantum Leap references, so that's cool. I wonder if that
means Episode II (featuring the Bakula-Stockwell cameos) are MUCH MUCH
BETTER than watching a slug shrivel up and die.
Those new ANP episodes left much to be desired in the writing
department. The humor.... huh? What's humor? I don't get it. I just posted
at CC a reaction to Bob being bitter as he told everyone to see the new
episodes. I'll probably become the next victim of a Bob attack, who the
hell knows.

Now
I'm repeating myself. This guy posted one of the other negative reviews,
but one comment made me want to post this one as well. "The humor...huh?
What's humor?" A lesser man would think that he just mis-typed something
and meant "What humor?" but I truly believe he was telling us he doesn't
know what humor is and we should ignore his opinions. Yes.
And finally, I shall give the last word to BOOGER BASTARD, who had this
to say about how C Chaos could improve their material---
Maybe this is what they need? They need to know how their
toons work with the viewer, what they need to change/improve/discontinue,
and they need to know that we are still supportive of them and we appreciate
their creations.
---so
what about all the POSITIVE REVIEWS? I guess we should ignore them. Thank
you, Mr. Bastard. Or can I call you Booger.
In all fairness, I went to this site's chatroom for a few minutes and
talked to a lot of these people. They were all very very nice and encouraging
and polite and were really really pulling for me, they really WANT Angry
Naked Pat to not suck, and that's nice of them.

Anyway,
there's your goddamn negative reviews. Now I'm depressed. I'd do a positive
feedback section, but that would be boring and too self gratifying. And
it wouldn't feature Booger Bastard's comments. Or slug references. So
what's the point.
Ah
well, see you all in a few weeks, for NEGATIVE FEEDBACK TO EPISODES V
AND VI!
Followed shortly thereafter by my suicide.
Which will probably have too many shots of pee pee and obscure references
for anyone to enjoy anyway.
Take
care!
